Business technology advisory roles - advising insurance affiliates on the correct technology components for new application implementation - merger projects both in MetLife and in Accenture, assisting in crafting the correct technology blueprint when merging systems from different entities (eg. The merger of Beijing/ Shanghai operations, the merger of Hong Kong operations, the merger of Keppel Tat Lee Bank and OCBC Bank) - Advising Malaysian anchor bank on the necessary integration blueprints for information sharing across multiple business entities
Business technology risk assessment - overseeing multiple projects and assessing technology risks and performing QA reviews on every new infrastructure or integration project
Systems Integration Roles - good understanding of a wide range of banking and insurance applications and technologies. In banking, our resources have hands on experience with core retail banking systems and packages, credit card processing systems, ATM switching software (eg. Base24), VisaNet’s authorization and settlement networks (Base I and Base II), Basel II and Internet Banking software (eg. S1 and Corillian) - good appreciation of channel access – ways that both customers and employees interact with financial institutions, and an understanding of Channels – ATMs, internet, call centers, branches and internal systems. During dot com era, has been heavily involved in internet implementations. During banking merger projects, had a lot of exposure to ATMS and Call Centres. During a core banking implementation, has custom built/ architected a branch teller system. - Familiar with security management of the networks and infrastructure. During the dot com era, heavily involved in putting together the security infrastructure for a B2B payment infrastructure and was exposed to PKI, smart cards etc. - Experience with data centers, platforms, and networks. Was exposed to operational management during a core banking system implementation where he was seconded to a bank to help run application management - good understanding of web services and enterprise integration, having lead various integration projects, specifically, being the lead architect of an integration blueprinting exercise with one of Malaysia’s largest Banking Groups. Has been exposed to web services on current projects and used EAI tools like WebMethods, Tuxedo and WebSphere. - good understanding of software development tools and methodologies, specifically Accenture’s Business Integration Methodologies, IBM's Methods and the Rational Unified Process - Lead the Solution Architecting for a custom built core life insurance system based on J2EE. - Ran the cutover for a banking merger in Singapore (merger between OCBC and KeppelTatLee Bank). Activities spanned 800 bank personnel. - Project manager/ System Architect for a payment infrastructure startup during dot com era.
